Isaiah Lee is the accused attacker of Dave Chappelle at the Netflix Is A Joke festival.
Actor Dave Chappelle was attacked at the Hollywood Bowl stage in LA on Tuesday, May 3, 2022. At the time of the incident, he was performing at the Netflix Is A Joke event when a young man unexpectedly appeared on stage from the audience and tackled him to the ground.
It was in April 2022, that Netflix launched the new comedy event. It featured performances from many comedians including Dave Chappelle.

Isaiah Lee, a young Black man had unexpectedly arrived on stage while Dave Chappelle was on the stage. The comedian was roughly tackled although, did not suffer any injuries from the assault. The man was later taken into custody and hours after the investigation he was identified as Isaiah Lee.
A video from the stage had gone viral on the web that shows the moment when Lee rushed into the stage tackling Chappelle. Some of the footage shared by the witness’ also shows Chappelle falling to the floor, with many people rushing to stop the person. Jammie Fox was also among the ones to help the comedian.
Chappelle luckily did not suffer any injuries, however, the attacker after being apprehended had badly dislocated his arm. He was rushed into an Ambulance.
Interestingly, even after the attack, Chappelle had kept his composure on the stage. He went on to joke about it saying, “It was a trans man,”. After the comments, Chappelle has been criticized by the LGBTQ community.
Details On Isaiah Lee’s Jail Sentence & Charges
Isaiah Lee is charged with felony assault with a deadly weapon. He was booked on Wednesday, May 4, 2022, into the jail.
The young man will be getting a bail of $30.000, as reported by the Los Angeles Police Department.
According to the Police, Lee had carried a replica gun that eject a knife blade. Nevertheless, the motive behind the attack is not yet clear.
Who Is Dave Chappelle’s Attacker Isaiah Lee?
Isaiah Lee is a 23-year-old man who stormed the Netflix Is A Joke event by attacking Dave Chappelle onstage. He is an African-American native who was listed in the audience at the grand Comedy event.
The mugshot pictures of Lee have not been released, although, we can clearly see a photograph of him being taken to the hospital after the attack.
Lee was listed as being 5 feet 10 inches tall and around 140 pounds in weight. He was given an address that matched that of a homeless shelter in Los Angeles.
