Goodwood Members’ meeting experienced an accident in 2022 and the severity of it has been the major concern among people.
Audrain Motorsport hosted the 79th Goodwood Members’ Meeting was promoted as one of its kind. It had promised to feature the demonstration of tandem drifting at Motor Circuit.
This was said to be showcased by the best drifters in the world. Unfortunately, news broke out that there was a serious accident on the track. Let’s get into the details and find out if any one of them got hurt.
Goodwood Members Meeting Accident In 2022
The official Twitter page of Goodwood Road and Racing announced that a serious accident had taken place on the track. This called for a chaotic situation at the event but luckily things are in control lately.
2 hours ago they said that there had been an accident and the driver was medical assistance. They further added that they will be providing an update as soon as possible. After an hour of that tweet, they followed up by saying that the driver was treated at the motor circuit and was airlifted to the hospital for special care required.
This event was one of the most anticipated events of the year for motor racing and what happened was quite unfortunate.
Goodwood Members 79th Meeting
The big news this year is that the S.F. Edge Trophy will be retired for a year, and the all-new A.F.P Fane Trophy will take its place as our weekend opener. There was a mix of sports cars and single-seaters, all powered by pre-war Frazer Nash chain-driven gear. Following that will be the screamin’ Derek Bell Cup for 1-litre F3 bikes raced between 1964 and 1970.
The tin-top titans of the Gerry Marshall Trophy meeting at the Goodwood Motor Circuit for a battle. The Peter Collins Trophy, a sportscar classic, will feature vehicles from the 1948 to 1955 Goodwood 9 Hours.
With under-2.5-liter sportscars from 1955 to 1960 participating on the track, the Robert Brooks Trophy is an obvious follow-up.
Goodwood Members Crash Update – Did Anyone Die?
The last update from the meeting was given by Goodwood an hour ago that the driver was taken to the hospital. There has been no news of any deaths until now and the nature of the causalities is yet to be revealed.
Even though the event was only for the members of Goodwood and the event was uncrowded and intimate, it is quite unnatural that the mishap happened.
