News: Did Sara Evans Divorce With Husband Jay Barker Over Domestic Violence?
It is not clear if Sara Evans divorced her husband Jay Barkey yet.
Recently, Jay Barker was arrested after he allegedly tried to hit his wife Sara Evans with a car. The 49-year-old sports radio personality was arrested in Nashville, Tennessee. Furthermore, he was charged with one count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
According to public records, Jay was put into jail at 4:52 a.m. on Saturday, 15th January. He was placed on a 12-hour hold for domestic violence. Furthermore, the real name of the former Alabama Crimson Tide quarterback is Harry Jerome Barker.
After being held for 12 house, Jay was released from the jail just before 7:30 p.m after posting a $10,000 bond. He was kept in the Davidson County Jail.
According to the details obtained by ABC News, Jay and Sara are married but separated and currently living separately. The affidavit reveals that Jay attempted to strike his wife with a vehicle in a neighbor’s driveway. The victim was leaving a party at a neighbor’s house. Furthermore, she had a witness with her who saw Jay reversing his car at a high speed to hit them but missed it.
Soon the police arrived and made contact with Jay. An arrest warrant was issued for the former quarterback at around 4:30 a.m. For now, there are no additional details about his arrest. However, we have come to know that his court date is March 22.
Barker allegedly tried to run over two people who were leaving a party around 1:30 a.m. Saturday. Barker allegedly reversed his vehicle “at a high rate of speed attempting to hit them, but missed,” according to the arrest affidavit.
