Officials say a middle school teacher named Brian Lasher from the Starpoint district has been detained and charged with sex offenses.
Starpoint Superintendent Dr. Sean M. Croft sent a letter to parents informing them that the school district knew Brian Lasher’s arrest and arraignment as a Starpoint Middle School teacher. However, the school district went on to state that they were only recently made aware of the matter.
The school system stated in the letter that the claimed incident did not include any Starpoint Central School District students or staff members.
Lasher was placed on probation after his arraignment. In addition, a comprehensive order of protection has been obtained.
