Jets Opening QB Joe Flacco Underwent Neck Surgery In April 2020

In April, Joe Flacco underwent neck surgery, which limited his availability for several months.

As Tom Pellisaro of NFL Network reported, Flacco underwent a 45-minute disc repair surgery. Due to the neck injury, Flacco’s inaugural season with the Broncos in 2019 was cut short after eight games.

Flacco played behind center for the Ravens for the first 11 years of his career, winning Super Bowl 47 MVP and helping the team win its second championship.

But then, in 2015, he tore his ACL, ending his season, and missed the preseason the following year due to a back ailment.

Due to a hip injury, Lamar Jackson, a rookie at the time, was able to replace him at the start of 2018. Because of a late surge, the Ravens managed to make the playoffs; in the summer, the team moved Flacco; and Jackson won MVP in 2019.
