The first mass shooting in New York City occurred in April at the Sunset Park subway station.

When gunfire broke out, the victims were enjoying a late-night party. One local told Eyewitness News that she couldn’t believe her ears after hearing so many gunshots.

“I was sitting in my living room and all I could hear were intermittent gunfire ringing,” she explained.

“‘Prong, prong, prong!’ it sounded like. ‘Brum, Brum!’ it said before stopping and picking up again. You know, there were so many shots. At first, I mistook it for fireworks. I suddenly thought, ‘No way, that can’t be.'”

Initially, police were notified that two groups of people were firing at each other at the location, Abc7 reported. “We basically assume it was a gathering, a BBQ,” said NYPD Deputy Chief Brian McGee.

Unfortunately, it was a mass shooting that no one have predicted. We can see a chaotic and horrified netizen’s video on social media.
