Born Nelson Efamehule Agholor on May 24, 1993, this boy grew up in Nigeria for five years before moving to the United States of America with his family. The fourth child of his parents’ five children, Nelson has four siblings – two brothers and two sisters.

Records show that Nelson Agholor’s interest in football has long been associated with his high school days, when he played wide receiver, running back and defensive back for Berkeley Preparatory School. With a lot of zeal for the game, he was rated a five-star recruit by Rivals.com and was also the third-best wide receiver in his class.

With so much excellence in high school, he became one of the most wanted players by the time it came time for college. He got offers from Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Southern California, Florida, Florida State and Alabama. After much deliberation, he decided on the University of Southern California.

As a freshman in USC, he played in 13 games as a backing wide receiver. He recorded 19 shots for 340 yards and 2 touchdowns. In his sophomore year, he played 14 games and had 56 receptions, 918 yards and six touchdowns.

Nelson Agholor then decided to join the NFL in the 2015 draft. His dreams of joining the NFL came true after he was selected by the Philadelphia Eagles as the 20th overall pick in the first round of the 2015 NFL Draft. He later inked a $9.4 million deal with the side. The deal presented Nelson with $5.1 million as a signing bonus.

As a rookie, he played a total of 13 games, accumulating 283 yards and a single touchdown. In his sophomore season in 2016, he played 15 games and had 365 touchdowns and 2 touchdowns. Nelson became more skilled in 2017. This was evident when he helped his team record a 30-17 win over the Washington Redskins. Among other things, he achieved a 58-yard touchdown in the game.

When his team clashed with New England as a Super Bowl LII Patriot, Nelson was undoubtedly one of the playmakers in the game. He was able to manage 84 receiving yards, allowing for the Eagles’ 41–33 win over the Patriots and eventually handing the team their first Super Bowl championship. With that in mind, it’s not surprising that the Eagles took up a fifth-year option on Nelson’s contract. This allowed the side to keep the wide receiver for the 2019 season.
