NBA Free Agents This Summer 2023 Best In Market

The NBA free agents this summer 2023 are Kyrie Irving, James Harden, Russell Westbrook, Khris Middleton, Donte DiVincenzo, and Fred VanVleet.

Most of the league’s top players have long-term deals with their current teams. However, in the 2023 off-season, superstars like Kyrie Irving and Russell Westbrook might look for other teams.

There are several NBA free agents in 2023 expected to be available in the market as the pre season of 2023 draws near, setting off an uprising of speculations and excitement among fans.

NBA teams in the league pay attention to a limited group of players who become free agents each summer. The 2023 NBA free agent class is expected to have an equal number of well-known players and up-and-coming players with their skills.

Kyrie Irving – 31

Kyrie Irving, who played his final season with the Dallas Mavericks in 2022–2023, will hit an unrestricted free agency this summer 2023.

He is one of the top NBA point guards with excellent ball handling and quickness. Since joining the Mavericks, Irving has averaged 27.0 points, 6.0 assists, and 2.9 three-pointers per contest.

His contract expires at the end of this season after being moved from the Brooklyn Nets to the Dallas Mavericks.

He also played for the Boston Celtics for two seasons before signing a free-agent contract with the Brooklyn Nets in 2019. Irving was traded to the Mavericks in 2023 after spending four seasons with the Brooklyn Nets.

James Harden – 33

James Harden is expected to decline his $35.6 million player option and sign as an unrestricted free agent with another team this summer.

Harden’s probable suitors in the NBA’s 2023 offseason have long been speculated to be the Houston Rockets. Houston will have the most salary cap in the league about $60 million and has the option to sign a free-agent contract.

Known as one of the best scorers and shooting guards in NBA history, Jarden is a member of the Philadelphia 76ers. Harden had an okay season [considering his standards] for Philadelphia playing beside current MVP Joel Embiid.

Harden, who led the NBA in assists during the 2022–23 season, averaged 21.0 points, 10.7 assists, and 6.1 rebounds in 36.8 minutes this year.

Russell Westbrook – 34

This 2023 season, Russell Westbrook is one of the names to be listed on the free agent market.

The payment for Russell in the upcoming season may be reduced. After signing up him in a trade from the Lakers, the Jazz have $46.3 million on the books.

Spending his time with the Los Angeles Clippers he managed to be a valuable player for the team. He is a member of the NBA 75th Anniversary Team, a nine-time All-Star, and the 2016–17 MVP of the NBA.

Russell was traded to the Los Angeles Lakers in 2021 after playing for Washington for a season. He then spent two seasons with the Lakers before being moved to the Utah Jazz in 2023.

After his contract was bought out, he joined the Los Angeles Clippers and he tied Andre Miller for the most assist in a debut in Clippers history.

Khris Middleton – 31

Khris Middleton is a restricted free agent after the 2023–24 season and has a $40.4 million player option.

Playing for the Milwaukee Bucks he has won the NBA championship and won a gold medal at the Olympics. During his first season, he played little with the Pistons and also got time with the NBA Development League’s Fort Wayne Mad Ants.

Khris played only 33 games in 2022–2023 due to injuries, and over the majority of those 33 games, he missed his usual level of play.

After missing the first 20 games of the 2022–23 season while recovering from off-season wrist surgery, Middleton made his return on December 3, 2022.

In a 133–129 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers, he finished with 17 points and 7 assists.

Nikola Vucevic – 32

Nikola Vuevi wants a new contract with the Bulls while he is open to exploring NBA Free Agency in 2023.

Nikola was moved to the Chicago Bulls in 2021, where he played in 44 games as a starter, averaging 24.5 points, 11.8 rebounds, and 3.8 assists.

The Bulls are at an important phase in their organizational timeline because their starting big man might be moving.

How much would they be harmed by a Vuevi departure? The Bulls missed the playoffs by losing their final play-in game to the Miami Heat and finished two games below 500.

When questioned about his views on his upcoming free agency, he provided an honest response, discussing his time with the Bulls thus far and the potential of staying in Chicago.

Jerami Grant – 29

The other list for NBA free agents is Jerami Grant who plays for the Portland Trail Blazers of the National Basketball Association.

Jerami has to be regarded as the 20-point-per-game scorer in the NBA’s last three seasons who gets the least credit. Since the start of the 2020–21 season, he has averaged 20.7 points and 2.1 threes per game.

He was first chosen by the Philadelphia 76ers in the 2014 NBA draft with the 39th overall pickup. He re-joined the 76ers in July 2015 in preparation for the NBA Summer League.

Grant exchanged his contract with the Denver Nuggets for a three-year, $60 million deal with the Detroit Pistons on November 22, 2020.

Bruce Brown Jr – 26

By 2024, Bruce Brown Jr is expected to be an unrestricted free agent unless the Denver Nuggets choose to re-sign him to a contract extension.

He began 2023 strong by hitting a season-high in points as one of the finest players for the Nuggets.

Bruce was a strongly better shooter, playmaker, and defender in 2022–23 than Clarkson, even though he may not be able to take over the offense all by himself for extended periods of time as Clarkson can.

He scored a team-high 26 points while playing for the Brooklyn Nets in a losing effort against the Celtics in the NBA playoffs first round.

Bruce had a triple-double for the Denver Nuggets against the Oklahoma City Thunder with 17 points, 13 rebounds, and 10 assists.

Donte DiVincenzo – 26

Donte DiVincenzo’s player option is valued at $4.725 million in 2023–24. Donte had a successful comeback season for the Golden State Warriors after injuries greatly decreased his value the previous summer.

He averaged 6.1 rebounds, 4.7 assists, and 1.8 steals per 75 possessions while shooting 39.7 percent from three-point range, ranking fourth among Warriors in box plus/minus.

DiVincenzo defeated the Toronto Raptors 129-117 on January 27, 2023, scoring 12 points and 11 assists.

He won a championship ring while playing with the Milwaukee Bucks since he was a member of the 2021 club that won in the NBA Finals.

After missing six months from the injury, DiVincenzo returned to the court on December 25, 2021, and scored 3 points and 2 rebounds in 15 minutes of action in a 117-113 victory over the Boston Celtics.

Fred VanVleet – 29

Fred VanVleet is anticipated to become an unrestricted free agent this summer of 2023.

Although Fred hasn’t had an above-average true shooting percentage since 2017–18, the Toronto Raptors offense has always improved when he’s on the court.

He joined the Toronto Raptors after going undrafted in the 2016 NBA Draft. During the 2016–17 season, he played for both the Raptors and their G League club, Raptors 905.

Fred made history by being the only player to hold both of the records for a single organization. In 2019, VanVleet helped the Raptors win an NBA championship after turning into an essential part of the team.

When he scored 54 points against Orlando in 2021, he set a record for both the Raptors and all NBA undrafted players. In 2022, VanVleet was selected for his first NBA All-Star game.

Josh Hart – 28

Josh Hart is expected to go down his player option for 2022–2023 in order to become a free agent and sign a contract with the New York Knicks.

Hart stated that he wants to stay with the Knicks into the 2022–2023 season since moving to New York to play basketball.

Knowing that there was a good chance Hart would become a free agent during the summer, New York made a trade to get him.

With averages of 7.5 rebounds, 4.0 assists, and 1.1 steals over the last two seasons, he is among the top utility players in the NBA.

Hart made his career playoff debut in 2023, defeating the Cleveland Cavaliers in game 1 while scoring a double-double of 17 points and 10 rebounds in addition to two assists and a steal.
