Naum Ciomu was a Romanian doctor convicted with €500,000 in penalties for slicing off a patient’s penis during a rage outburst.
Naum Ciomu said he was under stress in late 2004 when he lost his nerve and chopped off the patient’s genitalia during a routine procedure to treat a testicular deformity.
Ciomu then took the amputated penis to the surgical site and sliced it into little pieces, shocking the physicians.
He said that his fury was caused by inadvertently putting his patient’s urine canal and overreacting to the scenario. He explained to the court that it was a temporary lack of judgment owing to personal issues.
