Nate Parker, an American actor, director, producer, and screenwriter, was born on November 18, 1979.
While a junior at Churchland High School, Parker finished third in the state wrestling competition of the Virginia High School League.
In order for Parker to take part in the district’s renowned wrestling program, Parker’s mother relocated to Great Bridge High School.
He competed for the state-champion Great Bridge wrestling team in 1997–1998 and won the 135–pound (61 kg) weight class.
He finished third in the High School National Wrestling Championships and was named an All-American for high school wrestling.
Parker received a full wrestling scholarship from Penn State University. Parker was a freshman at Penn State and was ranked nationally.
Parker remained ranked as a redshirt junior 141-pound (64 kg) wrestler after moving to the University of Oklahoma.
