Nate Parker is a renounced actor, producer, screenwriter and director from America.
While attending an event in Dallas with a model friend, Parker, who was employed as a computer programmer, was noticed by Los Angeles talent manager Jon Simmons.
Simmons pushed Parker to travel to Los Angeles where he eventually obtained acting work after having him audition and tape himself.
Parker was the male role in Rome & Jewel, a hip-hop adaptation of Romeo and Juliet, which was published in 2006.
It was shelved and then re-released in 2008. Parker’s main character, who is meant to be the contemporary Romeo, was a tenderhearted yet tough young man from Compton.
Despite a problematic storyline, Nathan Lee of The New York Times compared Parker’s rap performance to Will Smith.
