After her career took a rise, Narvel acted as her manager, and with him by her side, Reba became a widely known country singer, and would later also launch an acting career, for the success of which Narvel was partly responsible.

Four years later the film “Forever Love” followed, again with Reba as the star, while in 1999 Narvel signed his name on the third film “Secret of Giving”, with Reba McEntire in the lead role, this time next to Thomas Ian Griffith and Ronny Cox.

Narvel and Reba met in the early stage of her career, and they soon started a romance. The couple married on the 3rd June 1989 and had a son, Shelby Blackstock, but divorced in 2015. Narvel then started a romance with Laura Putty Stroud, a real estate agent from Nashville, and also the best friend of his ex-wife.

This left Reba heartbroken, but she has managed to overcome this and continued with her love life, dating photographer Anthony Skeeter Lasuzzo for two years, before breaking-up.

Before Reba, Narvel was married to Elisa Gayle Ritter from 1973 until 1988. The two have three children, Chassidy Celeste, Shawna Rene, and Brandon Blackstock.

Narvel Blackstock’s Ex-Wife, Reba McEntire

Born Reba Nell McEntire on the 28th March 1955, in McAlester, Oklahoma USA, she is the daughter of Clark Vincent McEntire, and his wife Jacqueline. She has a brother Pake, and two sisters – Susie McEntire-Eaton, who is a Christian music singer, and Alice Foran, who is now a retired social worker and lives in Lane, Oklahoma.

Reba became interested in music from an early age, and self-taught herself to play the guitar. She would join other siblings during travels, singing various songs and forming the group Singing McEntires, performing at rodeos, and even recording the song Reba wrote, “The Ballad of John McEntire”. Despite school obligations, Reba continued to pursue music, and in 1974 performed the national anthem at the National Finals Rodeo in Oklahoma City. She was noticed by Red Steagall, whom she left in awe, and he offered to help her jump-start her career as a country music singer.

Reba recorded a demo tape in 1975, then signed a contract with Mercury Records.

Career

At first, Reba struggled to make a major impact on the music scene, with her debut single “I Don’t Want to Be a One Night Stand” only reaching No. 88 on the Billboard country music chart. After this, another single followed, and a debut full-length album, but without any major success.

However, in 1979 she released her second studio album “Out of a Dream”, which received much better reviews and charting, and Reba rose to stardom, so far releasing 33 studio albums – some of the most popular releases include “Whoever’s in New England” (1986), which became her first No. 1 album and the first to achieve platinum status, then “What Am I Gonna Do About You” (1986), another No. 1 album, and “Reba” released two years later. She has enjoyed success ever since, particularly with albums It’s Your Call” (1992), “Read My Mind” (1994), “Reba: Duets” (2007), and “Keep On Loving You” (2009).

She has become the record holder of No. 1 albums by a female country artist with 16, and has sold more than 65 million albums in the US, and over 90 million worldwide. Her most recent album is “Stronger Than the Truth”, released in 2019.

Reba is currently single and focused on her children, grandchildren, and as well her career. According to sources, Reba McEntire’s net worth is estimated at $95 million, as of early 2020.
