Nairobi city water and sewerage company was incorporated in December 2003 and is a wholly owned subsidiary of the City Council of Nairobi. The company operates through six administrative business centres in Nairobi, with three dam stations, one spring, three water treatment plants and two wastewater treatment plants. As the company is run on commercial principles, its workforce is integrated into a competitive and productive environment that is customer focused and results oriented. The Company is ISO 9001:2008 certified.
Nairobi Water is the Water service provider serving Nairobi county. It is managed by Athi Water Services Board and regulated by the Water Services Regulatory Board.Nairobi water is tasked with providing water and sanitation services to Nairobi residents and has regional offices in different parts of Nairobi. The head office is located at Kampala Road, Industrial Area.
Products & services
The Nairobi Water Company has been appointed by the Athi Water Services Board (AWSB) to provide water and sewerage services to its residents under an agreed framework specified in the Service Provision Agreement ( SPA) that ensures adequate and quality supply of water, affordable tariffs, and maintenance and improvement of water and sewerage infrastructure. There is also a tripartite agreement between the NCC, NWSB and NCWSC. Other agreements include those for Agency and Operational assets between the NCC and NCWSC.
