The murder of Bianca Devins and her disturbing corpse photos led the New York State Assembly to pass a bill against unauthorized photo sharing. Now, it will be a crime to share disturbing images without permission.
Bianca Devins was a 17 years old social media influencer killed in Utica, New York, by a friend.
The murderer became famous after posting pictures of her lifeless body on the internet.

Since then, Devins family members have advocated for state and federal laws to regulate the sharing of graphic photographs.
According to Assembly records, the state law cleared the Assembly on Tuesday with only two “no” votes.
If passed into law, it helps create the first and second-degree offenses of the unauthorized broadcast of a personal photograph.
