Muggsy Bogues net worth and career earnings: Muggsy Bogues, most well known as being “the short guy” in the NBA, never had a short salary and is worth $15 million today. At 5’3″ he is the shortest person ever to play in the NBA, considering the AVERAGE height is a towering 6’6″. Starting his basketball career on the Dunbar Poets in High School, they were rated the number one team in the United States by USA Today. He went on to play for Wake Forest where he, despite his height, managed to be one of the top players. He was eventually drafted 12th overall in the 1987 NBA draft by the Washington Bullets. He then went on to play for the Hornets, Warriors and finally Raptors in 2001. Playing 16 seasons in the NBA, he managed to average about $1 Million a year salary, which wasn’t too shabby for the late 80’s and 90’s. He has also managed to land a couple endorsement deals with several companies, as he stood out among the giants he played with. He wasn’t necessarily the best, but everyone was so amazed he was able to hold his own, that may athletic companies saw him as a motivating endorsement personality. Since the NBA, Bogues has dabbled in real estate, and coaching. He tried coaching a team in the WNBA, despite having no experience. The woman found it tough to follow his orders, considering his eye-line was barely past their stomach. I couldn’t imagine taking serious orders from a hobbit, could you? Bogues appeared in the movies Eddie, Space Jam, and Juwanna Mann.
