MTN is a telecommunications company with a presence in 21 countries in Africa, Asia and the Middle East and continues to expand. It is one of the most diverse telecommunications companies in Africa. If you are looking for the MTN GPRS browsing settings, this article will show you how to configure your mobile phone to access GPRS/3G/Data/Internet browsing features.
If you are using a mobile device with MTN as the network provider, you must configure your phone with the MTN settings. Ideally your dongle (modem) or your data card.
Requesting MTN GPRS / data configuration settings
You can request MTN browsing preferences in a very simple way.
1. Type SETTINGS in capital letters as a text message
2. Send the message to 3888.
The SMS costs nothing. Sometimes, especially if your mobile device is 3.5G capable, the configuration settings may already be installed, but it can’t hurt to send SETTINGS to 3888 for double security.
Some mobile phones may not be able to receive the network settings automatically. In this case you have to enter the settings manually.
