Mr. Bean Look-alike, Arnaldo Mangini: Early Life, Career, Net Worth

Since TikTok was made in 2016 by a Chinese company named ByteDance, several creators have taken advantage of the short-video clip platform to garner attention, share ideas, make a living, and for some, skyrocket to global fame – a typical example is Khaby Lame. Some creators make funny videos, some dance videos, and some animations; the content types are endless.

Some TikTok creators go viral for their unique content; for others, they jump on trending sounds or filters to reach a wider audience. However, Arnaldo Mangini stands out; he went viral simply by having the exact resemblance to Mr. Bean, a famous comedy character portrayed by British actor Rowan Sebastian Atkinson. Have the natural act of resembling Mr. Bean landed him trouble? Yes, it has more details on that in his career section.

While many TikTok content creators mimic the looks of celebrities, such as Priscila Beatrice resembling Rihanna and Vampy Jordan looking like Johnny Depp, none of them have achieved the same level of precision as Arnaldo, who emulates Mr. Bean with uncanny accuracy. So, how about we explore more about Arnaldo?

Profile Summary

Early Life

Born on December 4, 1973, in Torvaianica, in Rome, Italy, Arnaldo Mangini is a renowned personality who, despite his public presence, has managed to keep his family life entirely private. His early life consisted of growing up in Italy, moving to the Netherlands when he was 5, and experiencing the life and culture of the people of Zwolle.

While he has never mentioned anything about his parents, he has revealed that he has a sister, his only sibling named Teresa Mangini, whom he staged shows with when they were younger.

His family lived in Rome until he was five, after which they moved to Zwolle in the Netherlands, where he spent six years. Arnaldo was the closest to his father of all his siblings; he accompanied his father to coffee shops and clubs even when he was not of age.

At the age of 12, Mangini’s family returned to Italy and settled in Stiava, a village in Massarosa, Lucca. Throughout his childhood, Arnaldo had a deep interest in comedy and entertainment; he often staged shows at home with his sister, coercing his relatives to attend.

Arnaldo had high school education at Liceo Artistico, class of 1998, and later enrolled at Accademia di Belle Arti di Carrara, a prestigious public tertiary art academy in Carrara, Tuscany. In 2014, he studied Clownerie at Nouveau Clown Institute Vienna. And eventually, Arnaldo would combine his skills acquired from school with his persona to attain fame online. He decided to pursue a career in the entertainment industry, and he has since become a renowned personality known for his hilarious conduct and comical actions.

Career

Was resembling Mr. Bean a curse or a blessing? Arnaldo’s first job was as a waiter; at that time, he lived an average lifestyle.

He later went into entertainment, and in 1996, he auditioned for a TV show at the Zelig in Milan, Italy. He made it to the big screens appearing on shows that aired on TV broadcasts such as Rai Italia, Mfe – MediaForEurope NV – MFE-MediaForEurope), and Sky Italia.

He went on to create his show, “The Arnaldo Mangini Show,” which landed him in trouble with Rowan Sebastian’s team. Notably, his show garnered attention across Europe, but it was unclear who was on screen, whether it was Rowan Sebastian or someone else. Rowan’s appearance and style of comedy are similar to what Arnaldo exhibits, leading to confusion.

In 2001, Arnaldo Mangini was featured in four TV commercials where he played the doctor role. However, Rowan Atkinson’s team filed a lawsuit against the company responsible for the commercials. The legal action was because Arnaldo’s resemblance to Mr. Bean was so striking that it confused the public, who couldn’t distinguish between the original character and Arnaldo’s act.

It turns out that producing a commercial or movie with someone like Arnaldo, who looks like Mr. Bean, can lead to severe issues and hinder Arnaldo’s dream of becoming an actor.

Arnaldo was not deterred; he hosted another comedy show in 2016 called ZEN&NOW. The same year, he celebrated 20 years of his career with a comedy show titled Mr. Bean Double Party. In 2020, he appeared on an iUmor TV program in Romania and played Il messaggero in a film titled L’uomo Samargantico. Additionally, he participated in an event by Walliance company, among other activities.

Looking like Mr. Bean meant that Arnaldo could not feature in TV shows or movies, and act the way he wanted, so he turned to free media, social media, to achieve his dreams.
