The parents of Rayan Oram are devastated following the death of the 5-year-old boy trapped in a deep well for four days in Morocco.

The four-day vigil had intrigued thousands of people, who had observed, tweeted, exhilarated, and prayed as a band of rescuers in a village attempted to release a 5-year-old child from the pit.

Workers had excavated a rescue tunnel and ultimately reached the youngster on Saturday night.

However, the medical helicopter, waiting for him for days to transport him to a hospital did not take off. The boy was no longer alive.

The parents of Rayan Oram, the boy trapped in a well in Morocco, are Khaled Oram and Wassima Khersheesh. The king of Morocco, Mohammed VI, called Rayan’s parents to express his condolences after the boy’s death.

According to a statement from the royal court published on state-run media, the king confirmed that he had been closely following the developments of this tragic accident and had issued instructions to all the concerned authorities to take the necessary measures.

Rayan Oram’s parents have not disclosed much about their family background to the public and media. However, they do not come from a privileged family, and Khaled was mending the well when his boy fell into it.

The incident took place in a small northern town of Tamorot, around 100km from the city of Chefchaouen.

The age of the parents of Rayan Oram is between 35 to 40 years old.

Khaled stands above 5 feet 9 inches tall, and Wassima’s height is around 5 feet 6 inches tall. They were both devastated following the news of Rayan’s death.

Rayan’s father told reporters that he was in the process of repairing the well when Rayan fell in, but he didn’t recognize where the youngster had gone at first.

His mother stated that the family scoured the area when they noticed he was missing, not suspecting he had fallen into the well at first.

Rayan Oram Cause Of Death: How Did He Die?

The cause of the death of Rayan Oram is because of the fall into the 100-foot well in Morocco.

The community of Ighrane, located approximately 60 miles north of the blue-walled northern Moroccan city of Chefchaouen, had remained awake for four nights as the rescue operation progressed.

The family began by searching the surrounding area. Then there were civil rescue personnel, topographers, Royal Gendarmerie members, and even volunteers from a local mountaineering and caving group.

The rescue teams got the child Rayan out and transferred him to an ambulance, but unfortunately, the young boy did not survive the incident.
