Few metrologists have maintained an accurate format for forecasting the weather without failing. One of these weather girls is Morgan Kolkmeyer.
Driven by empathy after Hurricane Charley’s impact on many families, she decided to give up her already cultivated music career as a weather forecaster. With a certification in metrology, Morgan has built an impressive career over the years. Read on to find out more.
Morgan Kolkmeyer – biography
During her superb performance at work, Morgan Kolkmeyer managed to leave her fans in the dark with the details of her birth year. However, it is common knowledge that she celebrates her birthday every third day of September. Her parents are John and Jennifer Kolkmeyer. She has only one sibling, an older sister named Mallory.
As a child, it was reported that the weather girl was often at times curious about life and was also musically inclined, athletic, and energetic. She started playing basketball at the age of four and continued to play the game throughout her teens. During her time at Harlem High School, she played as the school’s rifle guard. At the age of seven she took piano lessons, learning and playing the musical instrument for seven years.
Although I took a few hours of music lessons, Morgan Kolkmeyer made a career change while on a family vacation in South Carolina in August 2004 after witnessing the first four individual hurricanes in Florida. Full of empathy for the affected families, Morgan therefore decided to follow the path of a weather forecast.
Morgan Kolkmeyer’s career officially began after being employed as a weekend meteorologist and reporter for the FOX 21 KQDS-DT in Duluth Minnesota. She started the appointment in July 2014 and contributed to the growth of the news agency by doing her best. After working at the news agency for a while, she joined WREX-TV, where she worked as a midday morning meteorologist and a morning news anchor. She then reported accurately at the news agency for three years before moving to the WGN weather center. The following month, she replaced Demetrius Ivory on Chicago’s WGN Morning news, broadcasting weekdays from 4 a.m. to 6 a.m.
While on duty, Morgan faced a few challenges, one that was quite prominent was the graphic designer’s failure during her show. Rather than give in to the fact that the show might be postponed, the strong-willed weather girl embraced using the old-fashioned method in weather forecasting. With the help of a pen, markers and a blackboard, she accurately calculated the day’s weather forecasts and wowed large audiences.
Wealth (income and earnings)
Throughout the episode, Morgan Kolkmeyer has shown dedication to her work as a meteorologist.
