After his high school graduation, he pursued a BTS degree (French diploma for high level computer technicians in two years) in Evry.

The discovery of Rubik’s Cube

No one knows exactly when Amerkhous played this game for the first time, but it is clear that one of his roommates, one day of early 2008, gave him the passion for this game. That still unidentified comrade taught him the basics of 3x3x3 Rubik’s Cube. Monir competed in the Rubik’s Cube French Open organised by the World Cube Association and which took place in Paris the 15th and 16 March 2008. For his first competition, he took the Moroccan national record in 3x3x3 with his best time of 2:01.05. Downplaying his historical performance he reacted “I got two kebabs for lunch, I was struck by food coma. I should have been faster”. As a true competitor he pursued “I swear I’ll will beat the 2 minutes barrier. For my country, my family and my friends”.

Current life

Monir now lives and works in Manaus, Brazil where you can sometimes see him connecting with mother nature in the jungle. He is very happy.
