Molly Burnett’s Grace Muncy Isn’t Leaving SVU But [Spoilers] Is

Fans speculate Molly Burnett is leaving Law and Order, NBC’s long-running legal drama TV series.

Molly joined Law and Order: Special Victims Unit’s 24th season in July and is officially a part of the show with the actress mentioned in credits of SVU’s recent episode.

Days of our Lives actress Molly, was seen alongside the new SVU team striking their classic pose in a shot from the same episode.

Hence, the chances of Detective Muncy aka Molly leaving the show is almost zero. Just when she was announced as a regular on the show, instead of a recurring one.

Molly Burnett starred in Queen of the South, CSI: Cyber, and General Hospital before joining Law and Order.

Fans Think Molly Burnett Might Leave Law and Order: SVU

Molly Burnett might not be leaving SVU, not when she has upgraded as a regular on the show. However fans were concerned for her after she was involved in a clash with the police gang.

Detective Grace Muncy in Law and Order, played by Molly, worked with the police gang unit before joining Capt Olivia Johnson’s team.

Molly appears in episode 2 of the show when a clash between Benson and the police gang Molly works for occurs.

Muncy impressed Benson with her skills in helping a victim identify an attacker and her passion for the job. Benson saw her fit for her team rather than a police gang and convinced her to join SVU.

The character ,with quirks her own, has tried to fit in and work well with the team. She is not the one to play on her job if the sequence from Muncy cracking a suspect under interrogation is to say anything.

Molly Burnett won’t be leaving SVU as the fans like to think. Moreover, she is geared to appear regularly on the show after the November 10th episode.

Molly Burnett is Officially Permanent on Law and Order

The latest tweet from Wolf Entertainment has confirmed Molly Burnett as a part of SVU’s team.

The channel tweeted, “Welcome to the #SVU intro, @mollydollyy” with an image featuring the actress and the SVU’s team for the 24th season.

Molly also expressed her happiness to be a part of the show by retweeting the same tweet with the quote, “so very happy to be here.”

Muncy made recurring appearances before that and was credited as a guest star in each episode she starred in.

Episode “Dead Ball”, which aired last week, listed the Queen of the South actress, Molly, in its opening credits sequence.

Now that Molly is a permanent part of the show, fans can expect more screen time for her character and some background information on her other than Muncy being color blind.

So, the chances of Molly Burnett’s Leaving SVU are out of the window. However, she might be a replacement for another Detective on the show, who will be leaving Law and Order in its 24th season.

Detective Rollins Is Soon Leaving SVU

Molly Burnett is not the one leaving SVU, but Kelli Giddish, who plays Detective Rollins, is.

Law and Order casting Molly as the new Detective Muncy just before Kelli announced she is leaving the show is no coincidence. The crime drama was already ready with a substitute character.

Kelli Giddish, who has been a part of SVU since 2011 as Detective Amanda Rollins, wont appear after the 24th season.

Just when NBC created excitement among the SVU fans for the new season with its trailer showing a three-how crossover, Giddish leaving the show put a damper on the fans mood.

Giddish on her Instagram said, “Playing Rollins has been one of the greatest joys and privileges of my life. I’ve been so fortunate to be a part of the Law & Order family for the last 12 years,” while responding to the online rumors.

“There is simply no other character on TV like Rollins. She’s grown and changed, and I have as well. I started on this show when I was in my late 20s and I’m grateful I got to spend so many of my adult years with Rollins in my life.”

Her character Rollins gets shot in the first three-show crossover episode of Law and Order: Special Victims Unit’s 24th season. In the next episode, she is recovering on the job and handling cases too.

However, Giddish will only be leaving after the December 8 episode, and fans couldn’t help but wonder about Rollins’s romantic relationship with Scanavino Carisi, that just bloomed last season.

SVU’s producer Julie Martin, following the concern, said on Twitter that the duo “will have a happy ending.” Giddish had joined season 13 alongside Hargitay, Ice-T and Peter Scanavino Carisi in 2011.
