Mitchell Robinson Career
Mitchell Robinson College | Mitchelle Robinson Kentucky University
Robinson enrolled at Kentucky University in July 2017 for the summer semester and practiced with the school team for a period of two weeks before he traveled to Costa Rica. It was reported that Mitchell left campus and his room was dissipated. He was then suspended indefinitely for breaking the rules of the school team. Robinson then decided to speak to the head coach and was granted a release to transfer, and aside from an expected decision by the NCAA( The National Collegiate Athletic Association), he had to quit the 2017-2018 season.
Robinson visited Lousiana State University, University of Kansas, and the University of New Orleans in August 2017 with the hope that a waiver would be granted by the NCAA. He later returned to Kentucky University on 27th August one month later after he left campus.
Robinson revealed on 18th September 2017 that he would drop out of college and on his own accord, prepare for the 2018 NBA Draft. He would be the first signed up draft pick to end up not playing for any learning institution for the entire year before joining the NBA Draft, however, he would still be credited as coming out of Kentucky by the NBA.
In addition, due to Robinsonson’s shortest time going to summer classes in Western Kentucky, he was eventually forbidden from participating in the NBA G League because of the NBA’s rules and regulations. The decision by the NBA also affected a few similar players who were stuck in difficult circumstances at the time, such as De’Anthony Melton and Billy Preston.
The ruling also encouraged at least one person to train on their own for the entire year before joining the NBA draft, as another star recruit knew as Darius Bazley initially planned on not going to college at Syracuse University to try out for the NBA G League prior to deciding against it well, stating that it was the only league where winning is not important after all.
Mitchell was named as one of the sixty-nine players who planned to take part in the NBA Draft Combine, a showcase that is held for multiple days in the month of May before the annual June NBA draft. Unfortunately, Robinson withdrew from the events.
