Misrach Ewunetie (Princeton Students) Cause of Death

Misrach Ewunetie’s cause of death is yet to be revealed.

The 20-year-old Princeton University student who went missing on October 14 was found dead Thursday, October 20, 2022, Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo Onofri said.

Misrach Ewunetie was found by an employee at about 1 p.m. behind tennis courts on the campus facilities grounds, Onofri revealed. There were no obvious signs of injury “her death does not appear suspicious or criminal in nature,” but an official cause of death will be determined after a medical examiner’s review, he said.

Ewunetie was last seen around 3 a.m. near a residential building on the New Jersey campus, according to the university.

In a statement, the university called the death an “unthinkable tragedy.”

“Our hearts go out to her family, her friends and the many others who knew and loved her,” the university said.

“We are planning an opportunity for students to join together and remember Misrach.”

Misrach Ewunetie graduated with honors from the Villa Angela-St. Joseph High School in Cleveland, Ohio in 2020.

She was also a member of the Minds Matter Cleveland program, which looks to close the education gap with high-achieving low-income students, according to CNN.

Misrach Ewunetie reportedly moved to the United States from Ethiopia in 2008 and grew up in Ohio before proceeding to New Jersey for college.
