In January 2020, Haley said he met Weinstein in 2004, after being introduced by a mutual friend.
Later, after about two years, he found Weinstein at the Cannes festival. According to her testimony, Mimi was unemployed and needed money at the time. As a result, she asked Harvey if he had a project in New York that he could work on.
According to Mini Harvey, he invited her to Weinstein’s office at the Majestic hotel in Cannes. Mimi’s words
“The conversation started normally. He was friendly. But soon he started commenting on my appearance. I remember saying something about my legs, which I thought was weird.
He then expressed that the meeting was becoming more and more inappropriate when Weinstein asked him if he could eat it;

“I went to ask for a job, I felt disgusted, I was excited, I could see him and he would treat me like that. I started to cry as soon as I left the building.
Haley said he had left the hotel, confident that Weinstein would not give him a job. However, a few days later, Mimi was informed that she could join the Project Runway team.
Some time later, after meeting in his New York office, Haley said that Weinstein had offered to take her home, during which he repeatedly asked her to join him in Paris for a fashion show.
“When I got back to my apartment, he started calling me over and over again, begging me to think and come with him to Paris. Weinstein returned to my building and called me from outside. I’m not going to have him, so I thought about going out and talking to him.
Haley testified that when he opened the door to the exit of the building, Weinstein was outside. She said he pushed her, entered the building and then into her apartment.
Inside, she said she insisted on joining him in Paris.
“I just didn’t know how to stop him, so I said, ‘You know, you have a terrible reputation with women,’ and he was immediately offended, like I didn’t like it that much. .
She said he asked her what she meant, what Haley said she was kidding.
“Then he finally came back and left the apartment,” he said.
Haley told the court that she was concerned that Weinstein was not satisfied with her. “I was not interested in sex or romance, but I wanted him to love me as a person. I wanted to have professional relationships with him.”
Haley said he later agreed to meet Weinstein in his Soho apartment. There he said he raped her.
