Pianist Mike Pinera (born September 29, 1948) began his professional career in the late 1960s with the band Blues Image, who scored a success with the song “Ride Captain Ride” in 1970, which peaked at number four on the Billboard chart. Following the dissolution of that group, he joined Iron Butterfly, and subsequently went on to create the band Ramatam. Pinera was a founding member of the band New Cactus, which was a later version of the band Cactus at the time of its formation. From 1980 until 1983, he was the lead guitarist for Alice Cooper. He is now on tour with the Classic Rock All Stars, which he founded. Renegade’s management, Kim Richards, introduced Pinera to the band via her own manager, Kim Richards, who was also managing Pinera at the time. Renegade Live @ The House of Blues is a television special that was recorded before a sold-out crowd at the Hollywood House of Blues, and they perform together in it.
