Mike Cherry WMUR
Mike has worked with several anchors in WMUR who include:
Tom Griffith: Tom has been in broadcasting for the past 35 years, the last 25 at WMUR-TV. He has been at the anchor desk longer than anyone in WMUR-TV history.
Currently, he co-anchors WMUR News 9 at 6 p.m., WMUR News 9 at 10 on ME-TV New Hampshire and WMUR News 9 Tonight at 11 p.m.
Jean Mackin: Mackin is the co-anchor of News 9 at 5:00. You can also see her reporting weeknights on News 9 Tonight.
She is an Edward R. Murrow Award-winning journalist who has covered major news events including New Hampshire presidential primaries, the Boston Marathon Bombing, and the fall of the Old Man of the Mountain.
Jennifer Vaughn: New England has always been home to Jennifer, growing up halfway between Boston and Cape Cod in Massachusetts.
Jennifer graduated with a degree in English after attending the University of Rhode Island, and Bridgewater State College. She started her career in radio with morning and afternoon drive jobs in both Providence, R.I., and New Bedford, Mass.
Amy Coveno: Since 2007, Amy has anchored News 9 This Morning on Saturdays and Sundays — a program that expanded to three hours in 2011. During the week, Amy is a field reporter, often doing live-shots from crime scenes or severe-weather events.
While many viewers may think sitting behind the anchor desk is the best assignment television journalists can get, Amy would disagree. She instead prefers the grit and challenge of field reporting. Her work has been Emmy nominated a number of times.
Monica Hernandez: Monica Hernandez joined the WMUR news team as a reporter and anchor of the 10 and 11 p.m. newscasts in December of 2018.
Before joining WMUR, she worked most recently as a reporter and fill-in anchor at television station WFAA in Dallas. While there, she was nominated for Emmy for her coverage of the homeless community.
Sean McDonald: Sean McDonald, a New England native, has traveled extensively before coming back to New Hampshire to settle. Sean grew up in Malden, Mass., one of five children, and is happy to be back home doing what he loves — reporting the news.
Sean joined the WMUR News 9 team in April of 1999 as a general assignment reporter.
Fritz Wetherbee: Fritz has covered New Hampshire for more than half a century. He has written for newspapers and magazines, done radio commentary and reports, and made films and television shows about his home state. Few people know more about the Granite State. And besides, he is good at what he does. Fritz has been honored with three Emmy Awards. Last year he was given the gold for Outstanding Achievement as On-Camera Talent in the whole of New England for his work on New Hampshire Chronicle.
Erin Fehlau: Erin Fehlau joined the WMUR News Team in September of 2001. She anchors the morning and noon weekday newscasts.
Erin came to WMUR from the Fox affiliate in Portland, Maine, where during the 2000 presidential campaign, she broke the news of George W. Bush’s drunken driving arrest. Her story was honored with a number of awards, including a National Clarion Award and Edward R. Murrow Award for Investigative Journalism.
Cherise Leclerc: Cherise Leclerc is an award-winning journalist who is a true New Englander at heart! Although she’s not originally from New Hampshire, the people here have made it feel like home for the past two years.
You can catch her anchoring the weekend newscasts at 5, 6, 10, and 11 p.m. as well as reporting during the week.
Adam Sexton: Adam Sexton joined WMUR in November 2007.
Prior to putting down roots in the Granite State, Adam worked at television stations in Oregon and California, where his reporting was recognized with multiple awards from the Associated Press and the Society of Professional Journalists.
In 2007, Adam garnered an Emmy nomination for a series of reports on “Dragon Skin” — a body armor system at the center of a national controversy over protecting American troops.
