The American former professional football player Mike Alstott played as a fullback in the National Football League for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Born in Joliet, Illinois, Alstott graduated from Joliet Catholic Academy high school, where he played high school football.
Following high school, he played college football for Purdue University from 1992 to 1995, where he became the first player in school history named MVP in three consecutive seasons.
Alstott was selected by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the second round with the 35th pick in
the 1996 NFL Draft. He spent his entire 12-year NFL career with the team from 1996 to 2007.
Alstott ended his career with 1,359 carries for 5,088 rushing yards, 305 catches for 2,284 yards, and scored 71 touchdowns. He was selected to play in 6 Pro Bowls and won 1 championship.
Off the field, Alstott takes his job as a community servant. In 2007, Alstott and family formed the Mike Alstott Family Foundation.
Mike Alstott was inducted into Purdue Intercollegiate Athletics Hall of Fame in 2006, and the Buccaneers Ring of Honor at Raymond James Stadium in 2015.
