Mick Lynch Unionist Wikipedia: His Early Life
Mick Lynch, a Paddington native, was born in 1962. At the age of 16, he dropped out of school and became a qualified electrician. Lynch, afterward, went to work in construction and joined a union, but as a result of this, he was unjustly banned.
He started working for Eurostar in 1993 after being unable to find work in the construction industry. He also became involved in the National Union of Rail, Maritime, and Transport Workers (RMT). He was finally compensated for the illegal blacklisting twenty years later.
Moreover, Lynch served two terms as assistant general secretary of the RMT and two terms as its executive. After general secretary Mick Cash took a medical leave of absence in 2020, he was appointed temporary general secretary, but withdrew after a few months, alleging members of the executive of intimidation and harassment.
This claim was identical to those leveled against Mick Cash. He stood in and won an election for the permanent position of General Secretary, taking it up in May 2021.
