Michael Francis Foley was born in Bloomington, Indiana in June 1965. Foley started wrestling when he was in high school with actor Kevin James. He hitchhiked to Madison Square Garden to see Jimmy Snuka compete. The match he witnessed inspired him to become a professional wrestler. Foley started out at Dominic DeNucci’s wrestling school. Foley got to wrestle in the WWF as a jobber losing to established wrestlers using the name Jack Foley or Nick Foley. He wrestled for the UWF and CWA and WCCW as Cactus Jack. In 1991 Foley got his big break, joining World Championship Wrestling. From 1994 to 1996 Foley wrestled for ECW and Smoky Mountain Wrestling, as well as wrestling in Japan. He signed with the World Wrestling Federation in 1996. In the WWF/WWE he was known as Cactus Jack, Mankind, and Dude Love. His wrestling style has earned him the nickname “The Hardcore Legend”.
