Michael Sheen The Twilight Saga: New Moon

The Twilight Saga: New Moon, commonly referred to as New Moon, is a 2009 American romantic fantasy film based on Stephenie Meyer’s 2006 novel New Moon. It is the second film in The Twilight Saga film series and is the sequel to 2008’s Twilight. Summit Entertainment greenlit the sequel in late November 2008, following the early success of Twilight.

Directed by Chris Weitz, the film stars Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, and Taylor Lautner, reprising their roles as Bella Swan, Edward Cullen, and Jacob Black, respectively. Melissa Rosenberg, who handed in a draft of the film script during the opening weekend of Twilight, returned as screenwriter for New Moon as well.

Filming began in Vancouver in late March 2009, and in Montepulciano, Italy in late May 2009. The film was released on November 20, 2009, in most countries, and set domestic box office records as the biggest midnight screening, grossing $26.3 million, which was superseded by its sequel, Eclipse.

New Moon was released on DVD and Blu-ray Disc on March 20, 2010, through midnight release parties. As of July 2012, the film has grossed $184,916,451 in North American DVD sales, selling more than 8,835,501 units, four million of which were sold within its first weekend, beating Twilight‘s 3.8 million units sold in its first two days. The film was well-received by fans but received generally negative reviews from critics.

In February 2009 it was announced that the franchise would take the name The Twilight Saga with the book’s title separated by a colon, though the title that appears on-screen is simply New Moon. The first promotional poster was released on May 19, 2009. On May 31, Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart, and Taylor Lautner revealed the film’s first trailer at the MTV Movie Awards.

Following the release of the trailer, two scenes from the film were presented at the 2009 San Diego Comic-Con. A 14-second preview of the second trailer was released online on August 12, 2009, and the full-length trailer was featured before theater showings of the film Bandslam. The film’s third trailer was shown at the MTV Video Music Awards on September 13, 2009. Spike TV also aired a new trailer at the 2009 Scream Awards on October 27, 2009.

Aro In Twilight

Aro is one of the three leaders of the Volturi the dominant coven of the vampire world. He is widely accepted as the overall leader of the Volturi and shows the gift of tactile telepathy, which gives him the ability to read someone’s thoughts and memories with a single touch.

He is the husband of Sulpicia and the older brother of Didyme. He uses Chelsea to change the loyalties of the vampires whom he wants to join the Volturi and secure his power status. He is portrayed by Michael Sheen in the movie adaptations, and by Jeff Riberdy in the segment, Consumed.

Aro normally carries himself in a cheery disposition and has shown to be polite to the point of being at complete ease even in the most objectionable of situations. Beneath this facade of optimistic giddiness, he is power-hungry, smart with his actions, and highly manipulative. He finds Bella Swan’s immunity to mental powers, including Jane’s “painful” illusory power, intriguing. Though he has never wanted anything more than Alice Cullen’s power, after Bella became a vampire, he twice invited her to join the Volturi guard, which she refused both times.

Michael Sheen David Tennant

The practical effects of the pandemic and its gross mismanagement on planned productions (postponed indefinitely), theatre finances (which depend on packed, not socially distanced, houses), and freedom to gather, rehearse, collaborate and generate ideas are already being felt, but their ramifications have hardly begun.

Individual actors have found ways to continue to provide entertainment and add to the cultural conversation (Samuel West, for example, began a series of beautiful and restorative poetry readings requested by followers on his Twitter account, to which more and more actors have added their voices as the weeks have passed), but the brightest chink of light in the darkness so far, and reaching the widest audience, has been offered by the small screen.

Obviously, they have their limitations, but there is at the same time an appeal and an intimacy that is all their own. It’s impossible not to watch and know that you are witnessing the results of goodwill, Heath Robinsonesque’s ingenuity, and artistic endeavors. There’s an odd purity to it. Creators gonna create. Actors gonna act. And they’re always gonna find their way to an audience.

All of this is present in particular abundance with the latest lockdown offering – Staged (BBC One), a comedy based on an original idea by Simon Evans (who also writes and directs) and Phin Glynn, and starring Michael Sheen and David Tennant. Or, David Tennant and Michael Sheen.

Arguments over billing form a running gag (“You were first in Good Omens!”), eventually leading to second and birth-not-Equity names being pressed into service to muddy the alphabetical waters. The episodes’ credits change accordingly just one of the many things to gladden the heart during the six quarter-hour episodes that comprise the series.

Michael Sheen Aisling Bea

Irish comedian Aisling Bea has split from Michael Sheen, according to Sheen’s ex Sarah Silverman. The American actress appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live and revealed that the rumored romance between Bea and Sheen has come to an end.

The funny woman even joked that she still hooks up with the British actor when he’s in Los Angeles. The 47-year-old comedian left no holds barred when speaking to Jimmy Kimmel, whom she had previously dated for seven years. Openly discussing her current love life with her ex, she said the long-distance was to blame for her split with Sheen.

And, while discussing former flame Sheen, she revealed that the 34-year-old Irish actress had split from the Masters Of Sex star. Confirming the break-up, Sarah said: “He dated someone for a beat and during that time when he was in town, we just hung out and we just bro’d. We were just bros. I’m good at separating that.”

The Welsh actor had reportedly moved on with Irish writer Aisling after parting ways with Silverman over the Christmas period last year. The rumored couple set tongues wagging when they attended the Olivier Awards in London in April, however, they haven’t been seen publicly together since the NHS Heroes Awards in May.

Silverman revealed she has remained friendly with Sheen since their split in December and said: “We broke up over Christmas and as you know he moved back to the UK. His life is really there and my life is really not there, but I love him to pieces.

Michael Sheen Rachel McAdams

Rachel McAdams and Michael Sheen have ended their relationship after two years together, it has been reported. The couple, who went public with their romance in October 2010, is said to have called time on their romance. Rachel, 34, and 44-year-old British actor Michael first met when they worked together on Woody Allen’s critically-acclaimed Midnight In Paris.

The reasons behind the reported break-up are as yet unknown. Speaking previously about the relationship, Rachel had said that while the long-distance aspect of their romance was difficult, they did their best to manage it. Rachel lives in Toronto, Canada, while Michael divides his time between his native Wales and Los Angeles.

She said: ‘Michael and I never spend more than three weeks apart – we rack up a lot of air miles – but you have to be quite adaptable in this business whether you are in a relationship or not. ‘Trying to establish roots somewhere is a bit of a joke.’

Rachel added that the key to the couple’s successful relationship is communication, adding: ‘You need to trust each other and be able to talk to each other and be best friends.’ Meanwhile, Michael has previously said that Rachel is a ‘genuinely lovely lady, as well as being stunningly beautiful and very talented.’ However, their relationship was not all been plain sailing, as Michael revealed he quit Twitter last October because of cruel comments about why such a beautiful woman would date him.

Michael Sheen Alice in Wonderland

Alice in Wonderland is a 2010 American live-action/animated dark fantasy adventure film directed by Tim Burton from a screenplay written by Linda Woolverton. The film stars Johnny Depp, Anne Hathaway, Helena Bonham Carter, Crispin Glover, Matt Lucas, and Mia Wasikowska, and features the voices of Alan Rickman, Stephen Fry, Michael Sheen, and Timothy Spall.

Loosely inspired by Lewis Carroll’s fantasy novels, Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking-Glass, and Walt Disney’s 1951 animated film of the same name, the film tells the story of a nineteen-year-old Alice Kingsleigh, who is told that she can restore the White Queen to her throne, with the help of the Mad Hatter. She is the only one who can slay the Jabberwocky, a dragon-like creature that is controlled by the Red Queen and terrorizes Underland’s inhabitants. In this situation, Alice fights against the Red Queen to protect the world.

Alice in Wonderland was produced by Walt Disney Pictures and shot in the United Kingdom and the United States. The film premiered in London at the Odeon Leicester Square on February 25, 2010, and was released in the United Kingdom and the United States through the Disney Digital 3D, RealD 3D, and IMAX 3D formats as well as in conventional theaters on March 5, 2010. It is also the second-highest-grossing film of 2010.

Alice in Wonderland received mixed reviews upon release; although praised for its visual style, costumes, musical score, and special effects, the film was criticized for its lack of narrative coherence and sombre tone. It received three nominations at the 68th Golden Globe Awards, including Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy. At the 83rd Academy Awards, Alice in Wonderland won Best Art Direction and Best Costume Design and was also nominated for Best Visual Effects. The film generated over $1.025 billion in ticket sales and became the fifth highest-grossing film of all time during its theatrical run.

While not the first such film in general, Alice in Wonderland started a trend of live-action fairy tales and fantasy films being green-lit, particularly from Walt Disney Studios. A sequel, titled Alice Through the Looking Glass, was released on May 27, 2016.

Michael Sheen Passengers

Passengers is a 2016 American science fiction romance film directed by Morten Tyldum and written by Jon Spaihts, partially based on the 1950s EC Comics story ’50 Girls 50′. The film stars Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Pratt, with Michael Sheen and Laurence Fishburne in supporting roles. The plot depicts two people who are awakened ninety years too early from an induced hibernation on a spaceship, transporting thousands of passengers, traveling to a colony on a planet in a star system 125 light-years from Earth.

The script was written in 2007 by Spaihts but was kept in development hell, with multiple actors attached over the years. In December 2014, Sony Pictures Entertainment picked up the film’s rights, with Tyldum attached to direct. Chris Pratt and Jennifer Lawrence were cast as the two leads in February 2015.

The film was produced by Village Roadshow Pictures, Start Motion Pictures, Original Film, LStar Capital, Wanda Pictures, and Company Films. Principal photography took place at Pinewood Atlanta Studios in Atlanta, Georgia from September 2015 to February 2016. It is the last film from Columbia Pictures to have the involvement of Village Roadshow Pictures.

Passengers premiered at the Regency Village Theater in Los Angeles on December 14, 2016, and were released theatrically in the United States on December 21, 2016, in 2D and RealD 3D by Columbia Pictures. The film received mixed reviews from critics, with praise for Lawrence and Pratt’s performances, as well as Newman’s musical score, visual style, and production values, though it was criticized for its plot and characters. The film received two nominations for Best Original Score and Best Production Design at the 89th Academy Awards.

Michael Sheen Staged

Michael Sheen Tron

Tron is a 2010 American science fiction action film directed by Joseph Kosinski, in his feature directorial debut, from a screenplay written by Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis, based on a story by Horowitz, Kitsis, Brian Klugman, and Lee Sternthal. It is a sequel to the 1982 film Tron, whose director Steven Lisberger returned to produce.

The cast includes Jeff Bridges and Bruce Boxleitner reprising their roles as Kevin Flynn and Alan Bradley, respectively, as well as Garrett Hedlund, Olivia Wilde, James Frain, Beau Garrett, and Michael Sheen. The story follows Flynn’s adult son Sam, who responds to a message from his long-lost father and is transported into a virtual reality called “the Grid,” where Sam, his father, and the algorithm Quorra must stop the malevolent program Clu from invading the real world.

Interest in creating a sequel to Tron arose after the film garnered a cult following. After much speculation, Walt Disney Pictures began a concerted effort in 2005 to devise Tron: Legacy, with the hiring of Klugman and Sternthal as writers. Kosinski was recruited as director two years later. As he was not optimistic about Disney’s Matrix-esque approach to the film, Kosinski filmed a high-concept, which he used to conceptualize the universe of Tron: Legacy and convince the studio to greenlight the film.

Principal photography took place in Vancouver over 67 days, in and around the city’s central business district. Most sequences were shot in 3D and ten companies were involved with the extensive visual effects work. Chroma keying and other techniques were used to allow more freedom in creating effects. Daft Punk composed the musical score, incorporating orchestral sounds with their trademark electronic music.
