The singer was born as Michael Steven Buble on September 9, 1975 in Burnaby, city of British Columbia in Canada to Lewis Buble and Amber, two natives of Canada. His father was a fisherman and Michael was raised with his two younger sisters Brandee and Crystal Buble. Brandee is a writer and has written several children’s books while Crystal has established herself as an actress. Along with his parents and siblings, Michael spent his childhood in British Columbia. He completed his education at Seaforth Elementary School and Cariboo Hill High School.
Growing up, Michael wanted to be a hockey player but then gave up so he could pursue a career in music. Beginning his musical career as a teenager, Michael adopted the stage name “Mickey Bubbles”. He performed at different shows and events including nightclubs in their neighborhood. The budding star entered and won a talent contest, but was ultimately disqualified for being underage. After that, the singer asked the show’s organizer to be his talent manager. Working together, Bev Delich served as its manager for seven years. He helped Buble get spots on talent hunt shows, nightclubs, and other events.
Professional career
The Canadian music star advanced his career when he released his first independent studio album First Dance in 1996. Alongside this, he also made his film debut as Game of Death and a few episodes of The X-Files. Michael went on to star in other films, including Big Band Boom, Duos, Totally Blonde, Snow Walker, and Lap Stop 148, among others.
Prior to fame, Michael Buble released two more independent albums Babalu (2001) and Rêver (2002). He came into the limelight in 2000 after meeting Michael McSweeney, one of former Prime Minister Brian Mulroney’s aides at one of his shows. He was then invited to perform at the wedding of the Prime Minister’s daughter. There he met renowned record producer David Foster, who later signed him to a label called 143 Records.
