Meredith co-anchors weekdays NBC 5 News at 5 pm, 6 pm and at 10 pm. She is also a reporter. She has been with NBC 5 since October 2003. Before joining NBC 5, Meredith was the morning anchor and lead investigative reporter at NBC affiliate in Charleston, South Carolina for four years.
Meredith is passionate about her work and has earned recognition for her good work. She was recently awarded a National Gracie Award for her report about a groundbreaking treatment that stopped a young girl’s seizures.
Meredith has won investigative reporting awards from the Associated Press, South Carolina Broadcaster’s Association and Radio-Television News Directors Association (RTNDA). Following her graduation from college, she became an intern at the NBC station in Charleston, South Carolina. Her first major assignment was covering a Category 4 hurricane in coastal South Carolina. As everyone else in the state was being evacuated, a small crew and she stayed behind to cover the hurricane. Back then she was 22 years old, scared, clad in rain gear, and she had relatively little experience. The coverage included live traffic evacuation shots in wall-to-wall coverage. The hurricane would go on to miss her hometown of Charleston, however, it did launch her career in the process. Subsequently, the NBC station offered her a morning show and she has been in TV news ever since.
Meredith has been reporting news for NBC in the evening segment for six years. She has been an anchor in the DFW market for all that while. She is a social media guru thanks to her funny and witty posts as a result, she has a growing fanbase. Currently, she anchors three evening newscasts in addition to making appearances for local events. She also supports a number of non-profit organizations and charities.
