Georgian Dvalishvili was raised in Tbilisi. Early self-defense training included qartuli chidaoba (traditional wrestling), khridoli (transitional fighting), Sambo, and judo. At age 21, he relocated to the United States to pursue a career as a professional MMA fighter. Matt Serra and Ray Longo are his coaches.
In the Sambo World Championships held in South Korea in 2019, Dvalishvili came in second place. At 68 kilos, Dvalishvili competed in combat sambo but was defeated by Stepan Kobenov of Russia in the finals.
Dvalishvili started his MMA career in 2014 and fought under various promotions namely the Ring of Combat. He amassed a record of 7–2 prior to competing in the UFC.
