She started acting in theater prior to her teens but was stopped by her mother Bonnie Ory-a drama teacher from auditioning for film and TV roles until she could pay for her headshots.

Meghan made her film debut in The Darklings, a 1999 cable movie starring Suzanne Somers and Timothy Bus-field.

She is best known for her role as Red Riding Hood/Ruby on the ABC fantasy series Once Upon a Time and also starred in the short-lived CBS drama Intelligence as Riley Neal. Ory currently stars in the Hallmark family drama Chesapeake Shores as Abby O’Brien.

Meghan has written a series of teen books dubbed Chronicles of the Girl Wars, inspired by her experiences in high school, that she has described as “Mean Girls meets Ugly Betty.”

She and her husband John Reardon were accepted to study Shakespeare at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London in the summer of 2012.

Meghan Ory is the recipient of the Fine Arts Award for Acting from the Royal Oak School in 1996.
