Pia Malaney Is An Economist Graduated From Harvard
Eric Weinstein wife Pia Malaney works for Institute for New Economic Thinking as a senior economist. Pia received her Ph.D. from Harvard University.
Pia attended Wellesley College to earn her Bachelor’s degree in Economics. She later joined Harvard University to get her Ph.D. degree in economics, she worked with the institution as a Research Associate for two years between Jan 1997 and Jan 1999.
She traded her position as Research Associate at Harvard Institute for International Development for a similar position at Harvard Kennedy School of Government where she worked for four more years between January 1999 to January 2004.
Her LinkedIn profile does not list anything about her work experience for nearly a decade between 2004 and 2015. She joined Institute for New Economic Thinking as a senior economist in October 2015. She still is involved with the organization in the same position.
Pia is also a co-founder and director at the Center for Innovation, Growth, and Society since February 2018. The organization is devoted to finding the next big technological advancement or DeepTech, as they phrase it, that could potentially rewrite the rules of markets in economics.
Eric and Pia jointly made a proposal for the University of Chicago on how a gauge theory could be used to calculate economic inflation which was presented by Eric at the university based on the work done by Pia in the field.
Pia celebrates her birthday on November 25 every year. However, she has not revealed her actual age on the web and nor has she mentioned much about her personal life on the internet.
They Have Been Married For Over 25 Years
Eric Weinstein and Pia Malaney got married on July 31, 1996. The pair celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary on July 31, 2021.
Weinstein and Malaney have shared their journey leading to their present day on their Instagram account. Marking the silver jubilee of their marriage, Eric shared two images with his followers on social media.
Eric’s first picture was the pair getting cozy recently and his second image showed them in their young days. Eric has changed so much in the past two and a half decades while his partner Pia does not seem to have had much of a change in her physical appearance.
The physicist also shared an image from a cafe in Hyères, France, on his Instagram account. In the caption, he mentioned they had been to the cafe two decades ago when they had school-going kids to worry about but their carefree days came once again. He also vowed to visit the cafe another two decades later.
However, Weinstein and Malaney have not shared any images from their wedding with their social media followers. It is unclear how the pair looked at their nuptials in their young golden days.

However, the podcast host did not reveal the reason behind keeping his daughter out of public sight for her entire childhood and most of her teenage years.
