A lot of people strive for perfection, but she seems to have a healthy relationship with her body. She’s confident in it. “I’m a fun mix of Middle Eastern charm living in bustling London,” she says about herself on her Milk profile.
She told Vogue that her mother pushed her to apply for an open audition when she was four years old and that after that, an agency called and offered her representation. The rest is history.

Making Plus-Size Fashion Accessible
Shay has always wanted to provide plus-size apparel to people of all shapes and sizes. She stated in Vogue that when she was a youngster, she couldn’t discover anything in “standard” stores, so she started purchasing and reselling plus size clothing.
“I’d sell stuff to my friends just because there isn’t really a market for people like that here,” she added. She no longer models for companies who don’t intend to offer her clothing in larger sizes in their boutiques.
“I’m trying to make my sister happy and have clothes to pick from when she goes shopping. I want my friend to be able to put on a nice outfit if she wishes,” she added. “I think it’s not too much to ask, but someone needs to do it.”
