Sam Burns was born to Beth Burns and Todd Burns. His parents wanted him to play football. A few years ago, Beth Burns received the heartbreaking news that her younger son, Sam, had abandoned football in favor of golf.
But Sam has been doing so well as a professional golfer. In February 2021, he finished solo third place at the Genesis Invitational, one shot outside of the playoff with Tony Finau and Max Homa, Homa being the eventual winner.
