Millie Bobby Brown’s Parents

The actress seems to have undying moral support from her parents and siblings alike. It is reported that her parents sold a significant fraction of their posessions so that they could move to Los Angeles, United States of America to hone their daughter’s acting talent and help her get a big break as a professional actress.

Before the life changing move to a completely foreign country, the Browns were living a regular life in the UK. Robert Brown, Millie Bobby Brown’s father, is said to be a real estate agent, while his wife and Millie’s mother, Kelly Brown, was a homemaker. After their big move to the states, Robert had started a dental practice specializing in teeth whitening. Millie had been discouraged in the beginning since she was not getting big roles as she had hoped for.

The family returned to the UK as they ran out of money, but Millie stayed back with her aunt in Florida. She was noticed in a performing arts school by a talent manager. She auditioned for the role of Eleven in Netflix’s Stranger Things over some videos and was selected by the creators of the show, Duffer Brothers.

This proved to be her big break since the very show can be credited to Millie’s present stardom. Her performance in the show got her commercial success as well as the title of a critically acclaimed actress.

Along with being a doting mother, Kelly was also a supportive manager for her daughter briefly. She has supervised and managed Millie on her way through countless auditions all the way to the red carpets. It is said that Kelly still has a say in making arrangements of Millie’s attire before she attends events.

In the year 2016, Millie’s father landed in hot water for supposedly demanding a sum of approximately 100,000 USD from the agents to sign his daughter. Several different talent managing agents have confirmed that Robert had been asking them to pay before associating with his daughter.

While being unconventional in the US, this is apparently a normal thing in the UK specially among sports agents and athletes. Given Robert Brown’s familiarity with several British sports agents, it is speculated that such demand from him was simply a case of culture shock.
