Milan Rushdie is the son of the novelist, Salman Rushdie. His father Rushdie got attacked at an event in New York, US, on Friday. As per the news obtained online, someone stabbed him in his neck.
He was reportedly helicoptered to a nearby hospital after the stabbing was confirmed by the New York State Police. Police stated they had the assailant in custody.
Social media images from Chautauqua Institution, located about 100 kilometers from the city, showed people coming to his aid while he was on stage
The attack left a person who was interviewing him with minor head injuries. Immediately following the attack, Mr. Rushdie collapsed on the ground while the perpetrator was handcuffed.
According to AP, the author was surrounded by a small group of individuals who were holding up his legs to apparently increase the flow of blood to his heart. The authorities asked Hundreds of spectators after gasping in horror at the atrocity.
