Mark Pearson Wrongly Accused Of Sexual Assault

Mark Pearson got wrongly accused of sexual assault in 2016.

As per the accusation, he sexually assaulted an award-winning actress at Waterloo train station while returning home from his work. He apparently penetrated her for two to three seconds. The 60-year-old actress was going to her rehearsal after a yoga session.

Two months after the incident, the police arrested him. Then he had his three-day trial at Blackfriars Crown Court in London.

The actress claimed that the assault happened after a violent blow to her left shoulder. However, CCTV footage showed clearly that Mark and the actress barely made physical contact, let alone an assault.

As more evidence, the footage also showed that Mark carried a newspaper in his left hand a bag in his right, so clearly, the assault never happened. After all, how come a man can penetrate someone for a course of two to three seconds while holding things in his hands – that doesn’t seem plausible.

Judge Peter Clarke QC told the jury to only convict Mark if the assault got proven. The jury of nine women and three men unanimously rejected the actresses’ story due to lack of evidence and 90 minutes, judged Mark as not guilty.

But, this whole trial happened just for an accusation even after the CCTV not showing any signs of any assault. That got Mark frustrated and angry towards Crown Prosecution Service.
