It feels surreal to imagine a young schoolgirl going through such pain. She is still in the hearts of many regardless of a long time since her death.
The young girl was just 17 years old when she breathed her last. If only we can suffice into words what her parents went through over the years.
It was on the 2nd of October 1989 when Liang, also referred to as Leong San San in some reports, was reported missing by her parents.
The investigation began after her parents complained about her missing. The 17-year-old girl was reportedly last seen at her school.
She was by all accounts seen boarding her school bus at 1 pm. Excluding that, nothing suspicious was coming to the forefront to solve the mystery.
However, after 12 days of her missing, the girl was found in a devasting state. In fact, her body was discovered while it had highly decomposed.
The highly decomposed body of the girl was discovered reportedly by NS servicemen undergoing their training exercises at Yishun Industrial Park.
Unfortunately, the precise cause of her death couldn’t be ascertained by Professor Chao Tzde Cheng, who conducted the autopsy on her.
He couldn’t conclude if it was murder, a suicide, or an accident because of the high decomposing. Some of her body parts were also missing.
If truth be told, she was discovered with injuries on her skill and ribs; however, they weren’t sufficient to cause death stated the professor.
Nonetheless, the police narrowed it down to one suspect after rigorous investigations. It was a 35-year-old school driver, Oh Laye Koh.

He led the police to the place where her bag and books were available which was just some distance away from where her body was discovered.
The prosecutors found his behaviour so suspicious. Koh even tried to claim that he had to fix his brakes when he saw the girl for the last time.
