Weinberg was born in Newark, New Jersey in April 1951. He is best known for being part the Bruce Springsteen’s E Street Band as well as being Conan O’Brien’s bandleader. He started playing drums at the age of six. In 1974 Max won an audition and became a drummer for Bruce Springsteen. In 1989 Springsteen dissolved the band and Max reconsidered going into law. Weinberg became the bandleader and drummer for Late Night with Conan O’Brien in 1993. The band was named The Max Weinberg 7. Springsteen reformed the E Street Band in 1999 and Weinberg worked out his schedule to continue with Bruce and Conan. Weinberg went with Conan to the Tonight Show for the show’s short life. Max formed the Max Weinberg Big Band and toured with them. He decided not to go with Conan O’Brien to TBS. Max Weinberg was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of the E Street Band in 2014. He rejoined the E Street Band in 2014 for their High Hopes Tour. Max won a HERO Award in 1990 from the Big Brothers Big Sisters of America.
