Matt was born on the 13th day of September in the year 1974. Although he made a name for himself as a coach, he played a little football during his college days. He played at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) and his main duties were as center and goalkeeper for a three-year period from 1992 to 1995. Although he played football at Polytechnic, his goal major was to get a degree and he did that in 1996 when he graduated with a B.Sc. in Aeronautical Engineering. He remained at RPI to begin his coaching career as a graduate assistant after graduating in 1996.
Matt received a fairly lucrative offer after graduating to maintain nuclear submarines and aircraft carriers with the Westinghouse Electric Company, but he decided against it and opted to return to training as a defensive line coach at Amherst. College from 1999 to 2000.
After coaching a few college teams, Patricia got his big break when he joined the Patriots as an assistant to then-head coach Bill Belichick. His new position required him to work as an offensive assistant, but he quit in 2006 and accepted the position of linebackers coach for the 2006 season. He was promoted in 2012 to defensive coordinator.
During Matt’s entire time at the New England Patriots, the team has won an impressive array of accolades. They won Super Bowl XXXIX at the end of the season in 2004, they also won Super Bowl XLIX at the end of the 2014 season and finally Super Bowl LI at the end of the 2016 season. advancements from top NFL teams like the Detroit Lions and New York Giants for his services.

Matt Patricia married the love of his life Raina Patricia who has the maiden name – Grigelvick. She was born and raised in Rhode Island, but graduated from high school in Cumberland, about 15 miles from Fox Borough. The couple met and married in 2009 in Aruba, but they moved and currently reside in Wrentham, Massachusetts.
The couple have three children – two sons named Dominic and Dante and their daughter Giaminna.
