He is best known for creating the television series Burn Notice for the USA Network and The Good Guys for Fox. Nix wrote the shorts Chekhov’s Gun in 1997 and Me and the Big Guy in 1999. He created, wrote, and executive produced the TV series Burn Notice from 2007 to 2013 and The Good Guys in 2010. Nix also created, wrote, and executive produced the TV movie Burn Notice: The Fall of Sam Axe in 2011. He created, wrote and executive produced the series The Comedians and Complications in 2015.
