Mathias Kiwanuka’s career started at Cathedral High School where he took the tight end and linebacker post. In college, he joined Boston College’s Eagles football team.

While with the Eagles, he appeared in 49 games with 38 starts, and 245 tackles. Kiwanuka set the school records with 37.5 sacks and 64.5 stops. He was named First Team All-American and First Team All-Big East twice.

During the 2006 NFL Draft, Kiwanuka was selected as the 32nd overall by the New York Giants. In 2008 season, he played 42 games, with 25 starts on defensive end and 10 starts on strongside linebacker.
