Mary reportedly met Steve Harvey while working on a comedy show in Arlington, Texas in the year 1989. Theirs was love at first sight. They dated for less than a year and decided to take it further and got married during the same year.
On the 18th July of 1997, they gave birth to their son Wynton Harvey who is 21 years old as of 2018. Unfortunately, their marriage did not work out and they got divorced in the year 2005. According to reports, there were many factors to the break-up with, the main one being a case of alleged infidelity. Mary accused him of having an extramarital relationship with Marjorie Bridge while they were still married.
The two fought for their son’s custody and Steve won the case but Mary got Steve’s home as well as a $40,000 per month welfare fee, which lasted for four years. They got a pair of beautiful twins who were both girls namely Brandi Harvey and Karli Harvey who were born in the year 1982. They also had one son named Broderick Harvey Jr. who was born in 1991 and he was named after Steve Harvey’s father.
