Marty Katz is a film and television producer who has worked in both the film and television industries. As Senior Vice President, Motion Picture and Television Production, he oversaw the production of films by Disney, Touchstone Pictures and Hollywood Pictures, as well as television shows produced by Disney and Touchstone Pictures, and feature animation produced by Disney. He was subsequently elevated to the position of Executive Vice President. Down and Out in Beverly Hills, Outrageous Fortune, Good Morning, Vietnam, Three Men and a Baby, The Color of Money, Honey, I Shrunk the Kids, Dead Poets Society, Dick Tracy, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Pretty Woman, Father of the Bride, The Rocketeer, The Little Mermaid, The Nightmare Before Christmas, and New York Stories are among the films released during this period. Marty Katz Productions, headquartered at Disney, was established in October 1992 by Katz. In this capacity, he produced the films Man of the House, starring Chevy Chase and Jonathan Taylor Thomas, and Mr. Wrong, starring Ellen DeGeneres and Bill Pullman, among other films.
Marty Katz Productions was founded in 1996 and has been functioning independently since since. In 1997, he served as the Supervising Producer on James Cameron’s Titanic, which was released by Twentieth Century Fox. Reindeer Games, directed by John Frankenheimer and starring Ben Affleck, Charlize Theron, and Gary Sinise, was one of the films he produced. Aside from that, he produced the films Impostor, directed by Gary Fleder and starring Gary Sinise and Madeleine Stowe, and The Four Feathers, which he co-produced with Stanley and Robert Jaffe and starred Gary Sinise and Madeleine Stowe. Recent projects include The Great Raid, an action drama depicting the 1945 rescue of American survivors of the Bataan Death March from the Japanese Cabanatuan POW Camp in the Philippines, which he produced in his spare time.
