Marta Palau Bosch Cause Of Death

Marta Palau Bosch was born in Albesa, Spain on July 17, 1934.  Her parents were exiled during the Francoist era in Spain, so the family relocated to Mexico in 1940. From 1955 to 1965, she attended “La Esmeralda,” the painting and sculpture school of Mexico City’s Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes (INBA).

Marta Palau Bosch died on August 13, 2022, at the age of 88. The actual cause of her death has not been made known to the public yet. However, considering her age, it is fair to say she died of natural death.

During the 1970s, she was one of the first Mexican artists to focus on themes of women’s and immigrants’ experiences, particularly in her Ilerda series of tapestries and later in her Nahual sculptures.

In 1981, Palau Bosch paid tribute to former Mexican President Lázaro Cárdenas del Ro in Jiquilpan for his work in accepting refugees from the Spanish Republican Party after the Spanish Civil War.
