In the entire 2017 season, he played in a total of 1,313 games and 13 starts, recording 52 combined shots (43 solo), 85 deflections per pass, one forced fumble and one touchdown. Lattimore also saw four wins with the team. The first was a 52-38 victory over the Lions, from which he recorded his first interception and touchdown. He won the NFC Defensive Rookie of the Month award on Nov. 2, 2017, and suffered a sprained ankle while enjoying a second taste of the Saints’ Week 11 win over the Washington Redskins. The following month, on December 24, he was instrumental in a 23–13 (third) victory over the Atlanta Falcons. He was later named NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year.

  • Strengths

Marshon Lattimore is an Uber athlete, according to the NFL, with an instinct to make plays of all coverage. He plays with so many explosive hip movements that propel him into accelerated mode whenever he’s forced to turn around and run. Its flat close burst is described as electric, allowing it to observe a nine-out route from exit to completion. Still a powerful open-court tackle to contend with, as well as a final hitter.

  • Weaknesses

Sports analysts believe he has high durability concerns. Along with hamstring injuries and a hip flexor that limited his tries at the combine, it was increasingly difficult for him to consistently block opposition receivers. Thus, he could learn to play cover to improve his skills on the field. Nonetheless, he has the competitive nature and confidence to help him overcome physical obstacles and rise to his position as a Pro Bowl cornerback.

Lattimore’s mother, Felicia Killebrew, also has brothers who played football.
