Watson used to deliver his act with an everyday Welsh accent that wasn’t entirely his own, despite not having been raised in Wales. When he first began stand-up comedy, he adopted it because it seemed “more comfortable to be talking in a voice that I didn’t fully recognize as my own.” He has since returned to his native tongue.
